My Background

Hi! My name is Mary Bua Lemirande. I am an accomplished pianist with a strong passion for Christian music. I believe that the Lord's plan for me is to use my musical talents for the glory of God, and so music has become my form of prayer, praising God through song!

At an early age, I learned that I could take refuge in my music after enduring a day of bullying at school. Playing the piano was wonderful therapy! I would come home and pound my frustrations out on the piano. At age 11, I began my journey into the professional world when my local church enlisted me to play organ for weekend masses and weddings. That path continued throughout my college years, and after I'd graduated and relocated to Milwaukee, I took up playing at a private club. Throughout the lunch and dinner hours, I embellished the dimly lit ambiance with a repertoire of pop, classical, and Broadway tunes.

Once my babies came along, I gave up my side hustle to focus on raising my family and progressing my engineering career. Inevitably, I felt the call to return to church music and was blessed with the opportunity to serve as the piano accompanist for my church choir. After several years in this position, I was well prepared to step into the role of my church’s music minister when he fell ill. I faced this intense but rewarding challenge in stride, developing liturgies, practicing with choir and cantors, creating worship aids, and performing all weekend masses.

Since then, numerous churches have sought me out to fill several other music minister roles in a temporary capacity until a permanent person could be found. While I have no desire to take on a permanent music minister position, I've found great joy and fulfillment in assisting area churches through tough times until they can find a permanent replacement. I've also played for numerous Catholic churches in the Milwaukee area over the past several years, receiving high praise from cantors, musicians, and parishioners for my musical talents and kind, flexible nature. In addition to playing piano and organ, I've led several church choirs and can cantor while playing when necessary. Please let me know how I can help you!
